Clickable compared
Different kinds of help suit different situations. Here is what Clickable does differently, in plain words.
Clickable vs screen sharing
Screen sharing (a video call, TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Quick Assist) puts another person on your screen. Clickable puts a pointer on it.
| Clickable | Screen sharing | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the clicking | You | Usually the helper, with remote control |
| Needs someone available | No | Yes, at the same time as you |
| What the other side sees | The page’s address, title, headings, labels and a short excerpt of its text; never what you type or passwords | Everything on your screen, including what you type |
| You learn the site | Yes: you do each step yourself | Sometimes; often the helper just does it |
| Best for | Everyday tasks you want to do yourself | Problems with the computer itself, or when you want a person to talk to |
Clickable vs AI browser agents
AI agents in the browser (for example agent modes in AI assistants and AI browsers) take actions for you: they click, type and fill in forms. Clickable never does.
| Clickable | AI browser agents | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the clicking | You | The agent, on your behalf |
| On bank, tax and health websites | You stay in control of every step; it pauses on Cl@ve, Google and Microsoft sign-in | The agent acts with your session and your details |
| When it gets something wrong | You see it before anything happens, and press “Not this” | You find out after it has acted |
| You learn the site | Yes | No: the agent does it |
| Best for | Tasks where you want to understand and decide each step | Repetitive tasks you are happy to hand over |
Clickable vs digital adoption platforms (for teams)
Digital adoption platforms (such as WalkMe, Whatfix or Pendo) show walkthroughs that a team writes in advance for specific apps. Clickable works out each step live, from the page in front of you.
| Clickable | Digital adoption platforms | |
|---|---|---|
| Set-up | None per app: it reads each page live | Walkthroughs are built and maintained per app and process |
| Coverage | Most websites in Chrome, including ones nobody has prepared | The apps and processes that have walkthroughs |
| When the app changes | Reads the new page | Walkthroughs may need updating |
| Admin, analytics, SSO | On the Enterprise roadmap | Usually included |
| Best for | People who need help on many different sites, and teams starting small | Large companies standardising a few core processes |
Want to try it on your next confusing website? You do every click.
Questions
Is Clickable an AI agent?
It uses an AI model to read the page and decide what you should click next, but it never acts on the page. You do every click.
Can I use Clickable and screen sharing together?
Yes. Some families install Clickable after a few screen-sharing sessions, so the next time the person can do it alone.
Does Clickable replace a digital adoption platform?
Not for every team. Clickable needs no walkthroughs to be written, but admin features such as single sign-on and analytics are still on the roadmap.
