How do I book a residence appointment (cita previa) in Spain online?
Updated
Book a cita previa for extranjería procedures such as the TIE or fingerprints, step by step, on the official Spanish government website.
Appointments for extranjería procedures, such as taking your fingerprints for a TIE, are booked on the Sede Electrónica de las Administraciones Públicas. You choose your province and the procedure, enter your details and pick an office and time if one is available. Free slots can be scarce, so you may need to try again at different times.
What you need
- Your NIE, or your passport number if you don’t have an NIE yet
- Your full name as it appears on your documents, and your nationality
- A phone number and email address for the confirmation
- The name of the procedure you need (check the official page if you are unsure which one applies)
Steps
Open the cita previa service
Go to the Sede Electrónica de las Administraciones Públicas and find the cita previa section for extranjería procedures.
Choose your province
Select the province where you live. The procedures and offices on offer depend on the province.
Pick the procedure
Choose the procedure you need from the list, for example fingerprinting for a TIE card. Read the information page that follows: it lists the documents to bring.
Enter your details
Choose whether to continue with or without Cl@ve. Without Cl@ve, you enter your document type and number, your name and your nationality.
Choose an office and a time
Ask for an appointment, then choose an office and one of the available times if any are shown. If none are available, the site tells you so and you can try again later.
Confirm and save your proof
Add your phone number and email, confirm the appointment and save or print the confirmation with its reference code. Bring it to the appointment with the documents listed for your procedure.
