INE online office (Oficina del Censo Electoral)Time needed: 2 minutes

How do I find where I vote in Spain?

Updated

Look up your polling station (local electoral) and table (mesa) on the INE's official website. No Cl@ve or digital certificate needed.

In Spain you vote at a polling station (local electoral or colegio electoral) set by the address where you are registered on the padrón. The Oficina del Censo Electoral, part of the INE, publishes every station and table online, so you can look yours up in a couple of minutes without signing in. For the general election on 29 November 2026, the census card it posts to voters in Spain shows the same details.

The pictures show Clickable on an illustration of the INE lookup, with example data. The real page looks different and its labels may change, so follow what you see on screen. You make every click.

What you need

Steps

  1. Open the INE's polling station lookup

Go to sede.ine.gob.es, the official online office of the Instituto Nacional de Estadística, and open Consulta de mesas y locales electorales. It is free and you don't sign in. Avoid other websites that ask for your DNI or charge for this.

  2. Choose your province and municipality

Pick the province and then the municipality where you are registered on the padrón. That is where you vote, even if you now live somewhere else.

  3. Type the first letter of your first surname

Each polling station has tables (mesas) split by surname, for example A to L and M to Z. Type only the first letter of your first surname, then search.

  4. Find your street in the list

The results are grouped by electoral section. Look for your street and check the range of house numbers and the locality, so you pick your own address and not a similar one.

Illustration: the results table with two lines for Calle del Olmo; Clicky rings Ver on the line for numbers 41 to 99 and the panel says Click Ver on your street's line.
  5. Open it and note the details

Open the line to see your polling station's name and address and your table (mesa). Write them down or take a screenshot. The final list is published from 19 November, so check again shortly before 29 November.

Questions

When is the next general election?

Sunday 29 November 2026, from 9:00 to 20:00. It was called in the BOE on 6 October 2026.

Do I need Cl@ve or a digital certificate?

Not for the polling station lookup, which only asks for your province, municipality and the first letter of your surname. Checking your own entry in the electoral roll (censo electoral) is a separate service that asks you to sign in.

Do I need my census card (tarjeta censal) to vote?

No. The Oficina del Censo Electoral posts it in November and it shows your polling station and table, but to vote you only need an original ID with your photo: DNI, passport or driving licence.

I can't go on the day. Can I vote by post?

Yes. Ask for a postal vote (voto por correo) at any Correos post office by 19 November 2026; you go yourself and show your ID. Check the official INE pages for any other way to ask for it.

I live abroad. Where do I vote?

If you are registered as a resident abroad (CERA), you don't need to apply: you vote by post to your consulate or in person at the consulate. If you live in Spain and are only away for a while (ERTA), the application period has already closed for this election. Your consulate's website has the dates.

Who can I ask if something looks wrong?

The Oficina del Censo Electoral answers on 900 343 232, and your town hall can tell you which address you are registered at.
